Welcome to The Hershey Harrisburg Region, where great stories begin.

By Diane Sullivan July 31, 2015

The Hershey Harrisburg Region is usually recognized as the Capital of Pennsylvania. But we may be most commonly recognized as the chocolate capital of the world thanks to Milton S. Hershey building his famous chocolate company here in 1905.

Therefore, you may think you know us. But there is always more to discover.

And once you commit to exploring our hidden treasures and trying our lesser-known attractions then you’ll truly know why this region has become one of Pennsylvania’s top vacation destinations.

This is a travel destination with character and characters in a place that delights and inspires with the perfect blend of sweet family fun, capital charm, and fresh air.

We are many things to many people.

For families we are home to Hersheypark which is always named among the nation’s top amusement parks, and Hershey’s Chocolate World Attraction which is the most-visited corporate welcome center in the world. But we also have craft centers, caverns, zoos, wildlife safari tours, butterfly houses, nature centers, zip lines, rope courses, OGO Balls, ski slopes, adventure zones, and science centers.

For couples without the kids or girlfriends on the go we are an ultimate choice for urban eclecticism and the spontaneous weekend getaway. In addition to quaint and charming B&Bs, we have the Hershey Harrisburg Wine & Craft Beer Country with 15 award-winning wineries and a dozen breweries including Troegs Brewing which was named a Top 10 Brewery Tour in America by USA Today readers.

For those who love getting outdoors for some fun in the sun or frolicking in the fresh air we are the place to relax, recharge, and reconnect with family and friends. For hikers, bikers, and kayakers we are home to the Susquehanna River, the Swatara Creek, and one of the most scenic sections of the Appalachian Trail. Our Little Buffalo State Park was named a top family friendly fishing spot in the U.S. by TakeMeFishing.org.
